New Google open source browser – Google Chrome

Google announced yesterday that they will be launching a new open source browser – named Google chrome, today, September 2nd. The beta version of Google Chrome will be launched in more than 100 countries. With this Google is trying to keep up with technology (as always).

Their approach is great, they are once again taking the user experience as a number one priority when creating Google Chrome, as quoted from their press release they sent out yesterday

“On the surface, we designed a browser window that is streamlined and simple. To most people, it isn’t the browser that matters. It’s only a tool to run the important stuff — the pages, sites and applications that make up the web. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go.

Under the hood, we were able to build the foundation of a browser that runs today’s complex web applications much better. By keeping each tab in an isolated “sandbox”, we were able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites. We improved speed and responsiveness across the board. We also built a more powerful JavaScript engine, V8, to power the next generation of web applications that aren’t even possible in today’s browsers.”

Now the question is what does this mean for SEO? Is content still going to be king, does link building matter, the type of page you create, can all the new languages be crawled?

Watch out IE and Firefox, Google Chrome is coming!

Scrubs

Besides being one of my favorite TV shows (Scrubs) I also have to admit that scrubs, medical scrubs are some of the most comfortable clothes to wear. I found a great place where you can get some really funky, yet comfortable scrubs. The store is crazy scrubs and is located in Colorado, but you can also order online. Check it out!

Qwest Launching New Fiber Optic Internet

Whohoaaaa! Let’s see if I qualify for new speeds – Qwest Fiber Optics Internet . Nope, not yet. :(

Well at least it is a new initiative. Hopefully I’ll be 100 times more productive and update this blog more often when the new speed arrives in my hood.

Duplicate Content Issues (Pubcon 2007)

The myth of duplicate content has been revealed. A lot of people still think that duplicate content is the evil that destroys websites. Reality is that duplicate content is going to happen, syndicated articles, press releases, sites with millions of pages are bound to have some duplicate content. So what is the solutions?

This is where all the Search Engines stand when it comes to duplicate content:

Search Engines will not penalize your site because of duplicate content, however
Only one result will be displayed in the top rankings. If you want to make sure that the result displayed is the one you want and not the one that the Search Engines have picked, then you have to do the following:
1. 301 redirects to the main page you want to show in results
2. Add Noindex tag
3. Deny access through Robots.txt
